Social Media Manager, Marketing & Communications

Summary of Position

Reporting to the Director Marketing & Communications, this role will assist in the development of a social media strategy and proactively contribute to ideas for engaging and growing ACWIS audiences.

This individual will serve as an integral part of a communications team whose members work independently on some projects and collaborate on others.

 

Responsibilities

    • Generate and cultivate content across all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, & LinkedIn)
        • Write engaging and at times, humorous copy, create relevant hashtags, source existing imagery, create new graphics and simple animations, GIFs etc.
        • Strong editorial/copywriting experience
        • Must have a great eye for design and skills to back it up
    • Assist in the development of a social strategy alongside the Director, Marketing & Communications, and our consultants
    • Propose new ideas for engaging and growing our audiences
    • Respect the Weizmann brand and tradition, while also breaking the mold to engage younger audiences (30 +) without alienating our older followers
    • Create a calendar of events for posting
    • Boost posts featuring important discoveries and other major news
    • Connect with followers by responding to comments and direct messages
    • Identify other social media pages to follow and engage with
        • Propose opportunities to partner with similar organizations on social content e.g., events, livestreaming, shared posts, etc.
    • Collaborate with the Institute on creative assets and chat regularly about strategy
    • Work with various teams in the organization like Annual Giving, Prospect Management Research, and Donor Relations & National Programs
    • Review and analyze data insights, looking for trends and high/low performing content. Prepare reports on a monthly basis and recommend areas for improvement.
    • 5+ years of relevant experience with organic and paid social media 
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or relevant experience
