On the occasion of Israel’s 60th anniversary, this whimsical approach to sharing Weizmann “news” shows how Institute advances have also helped advance the state of Israel. In fact, the scientific infrastructure of the Institute was laid before the state was even founded! From WEIZAC, Israel’s’ first computer and one of the first in the world, to the establishment of Yeda, Weizmann’s technology transfer company, from particle accelerators to alternative energy, computer languages, studying the immune system, developing the MS drugs Copaxone and Rebif, the Weizmann Institute has helped establish Israel’s high-tech, bio-tech, and clean-tech economies … and is shaping the future, too. It is the land of milk and honey – and science.
