Prof. Daniel Zajfman, Weizmann Institute president, takes us on a whirlwind tour of the campus as we look back at its amazing progress in 2015. One of the Institute’s ongoing priorities is the recruitment of the best new scientists – in 2015, it brought aboard Dr. Nir Schulman, Dr. Ronan Eldan, Dr. Michal Leskes, Dr. Liran Shlush, Prof. Victor Malka, Dr. Ziv Shulman, Prof. Uri Bader, Dr. Guy Rothblum, Dr. Ruth Scherz, Dr. Nir London, Dr. Shikma Bressler, Dr. Shraga Schwartz, Dr. Rina Rosenzweig, Dr. Ronan Eldan, and Dr. Ivo Spiegel.

We learn that 67 international conferences were held at the Lopatie Conference Center. Projects were collaborated on with Memorial Sloan Kettering, MIT, the University of Michigan, MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Karolinska Institutet, and the Technion. Construction on major new buildings was completed or has begun. Noteworthy research breakthroughs took place in fields ranging from ant behavior to lung cancer. Missions from all over the world visited campus, as did cultural figures. Awards were received. It was a busy year, and Prof. Zajfman is looking forward to even more success in 2016 – as are we all.
