Feb 09, 2021... The Vera and Chaim Weizmann Honor Society hosted its second virtual event, this time for West Coast, Southwest, and Midwest Honor Society members and loyal donors. The event opened with testimonials from Diane and Michael Brown of Scottsdale, AZ, the Hon. William A. Marovitz of Chicago, IL, and Dr. Merry Rubin Sherman of San Francisco, CA, who shared their personal reasons for establishing legacy gifts at Weizmann. American Committee President Dr. Gladys Monroy and Honor Society Co-Chair Larry Marks then offered greetings and introduced CEO Dave Doneson. Dave took part in a conversation with Vice President of Personalized Philanthropy Stacy Sulman about the Weizmann Institute's coronavirus research, international collaborations, and more.
May 24, 2021... With their 65th wedding anniversary approaching in June, Rosa and Harris Weinstein decided to mark the occasion with a gift to the Weizmann Institute. The couple believes deeply in the Institute’s vital mission, but their reasons are more personal. They wanted to honor Dewey Stone, one of the American Committee’s earliest visionaries who helped realize Dr. Chaim Weizmann’s dream of a world-class scientific research institution in Israel.
Nov 09, 2021... REHOVOT, ISRAEL—November 9, 2021—The Weizmann Institute of Science is thrilled to announce a lead philanthropic donation of $50 million (USD) from the Azrieli Foundation. The historic gift will enable catalytic brain research with the establishment of The Azrieli Institute for Brain and Neural Sciences. The donation is among the largest of its kind for the Foundation. The Azrieli Foundation is a longstanding supporter of research at the Weizmann Institute, and this generous donation adds to its past philanthropic investments of nearly $30 million in Weizmann research facilities and faculty and student fellowships.

REHOVOT, ISRAEL—November 9, 2021—The Weizmann Institute of Science bestowed honorary PhDs upon seven individuals on Monday, Nov. 8, in recognition of their career and personal achievements. The degrees were presented during a ceremony held in-person and broadcast virtually as part of the 73rd Annual General Meeting of the International Board.
Weizmann Institute President Prof. Alon Chen congratulated and conferred the degrees on the honorees, who participated in the ceremony both in person in the Michael Sela Auditorium on the Weizmann campus, and from their homes around the world. The hybrid nature of the event echoed the “borderless” theme selected for this year’s International Board events.
