A message from American Committee CEO Dave Doneson

2023 2024 Weizmann Institute

Dear Friends,

Our colleagues, friends, and partners at the Weizmann Institute and throughout Israel are enduring harrowing times while preparing for a long and challenging road ahead.

These recent terrorist attacks come with a level of brutalities against women and men, babies and children, elderly and infirm, that we have not seen in the 75-year history of the State of Israel. Many in the Weizmann Institute community have already lost loved ones. Others have been called into duty to defend the country and its people.

We express our deep sorrow for the loss of life, our heartache for their loved ones, and our prayers for the recovery of the wounded and the safe return of the kidnapped. Our hearts go out to the impacted communities, the IDF soldiers, the security forces and rescue services, and everyone in the region.

The American Committee’s unwavering support of the Weizmann Institute of Science and its mission to benefit the future of humanity dates back to 1944, transcending adversity, conflict, and discord. Our commitment to this mission remains as strong as ever.

For more information, or to explore ways to help the Weizmann Institute address the needs of its campus family, please contact [email protected]

We will continue to share updates as we receive them. In the meantime, please keep all of Israel in your thoughts and prayers. It may be a long road, but Israel will prevail against this terrorism.

יהי זכרם ברוך - may the memories of those lost be a blessing to those who live on, and may we all see peace, healing, and quieter days ahead.
