REHOVOT, ISRAEL—November 13, 2013—The Weizmann Institute of Science is establishing, on its campus, the Nancy and Stephen Grand Israel National Center for Personalized Medicine. This facility will serve Israel’s entire life sciences and biomedical research community, including academic scientists, MDs working in hospital research labs, and researchers in the biomedical industry.

Sep 18, 2008... BOCA RATON, FL—September 18, 2008—The American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science announced that Mindy Ginsberg will assume the office of Executive Director of the American Committee's Palm Beach Region.
Mindy Ginsberg brings to the position a strong background in fundraising and marketing in the Palm Beach area. She served as Director of Institutional Advancement, Southeast Region, for Yeshiva University and the Albert Einstein College of Medicine from November 2002 to May 2008. Previously, Ms. Ginsberg had served as an independent fundraising consultant for the National United Jewish Communities, as well as the Adolph and Rose Levis Jewish Community Center and the Mount Zion Foundation, both in Boca Raton. Ms. Ginsberg had also worked in senior development capacities for the Southeast Regional Office of National Hadassah (1996–9) and the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County (1990–6).

The crowd already had sat through a Q&A panel of scientists talking about the Israel-based organization's work—all while the Cubs game was being broadcast from New York.

Apr 12, 2018... On April 11, 2018, American Committee supporters from across the country tuned in for CEO Marshall S. Levin's most recent conference call focused on “Science at the Leading Edge: Latest Breakthroughs from the Weizmann Institute of Science.”
As one of the deadliest flu seasons comes to a close, Mr. Levin informed the audience that Weizmann scientists have developed a universal flu vaccine that may provide full protection from all strains of the virus. The vaccine is now in late-stage clinical trials.

Feb 01, 2012... The Weizmann Institute formally opened the new David Lopatie Conference Centre in a gala event on Nov. 13 honoring its South African donor. The Centre was heralded a future venue for international scientific conferences that will shine a spotlight on the Institute and its cutting-edge research.
Located prominently at the campus entrance, the Centre represents the renovation and transformation of the former Wix Library into a state-of-the-art facility that will also host meetings of the International and Executive Board, the Scientific Council, the Council of Professors, and Promotion committees. In addition, it will be the new home of the Barbara Levinson Visitors Center and the offices of the Academic Secretariat.

Aug 10, 2016... Although Chaim Weizmann is well-known as the first president of Israel, his life as a scientist may be even more significant to the country's founding.
During World War I, Dr. Weizmann, a chemist then living in Britain – where his wife, Vera, served as a doctor – invented a method of industrial fermentation which produced large quantities of acetone. Crucial to the British war effort, his invention has been credited with helping the Allies win. During this time he also became friends with Lord Arthur Balfour, helping persuade him to write his famous Declaration. Today, however, the renowned scientific institution that bearshis name may be Dr. Weizmann’s greatest legacy.
