The American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science is a community of dedicated people who share a common vision with the Weizmann Institute in support of our common mission: science for the benefit of humanity. The American Committee partners with individuals, families, foundations, and the business community to develop philanthropic funding for the Institute; educates the American public about the Institute’s research; and represents the Institute’s interests in the U.S.

Who We Represent

At the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, around 4,000 scientists, graduate students, highly skilled research technicians, and the staff who support them come to work every day with the goal of solving the most challenging problems facing humankind: cancer and other diseases, world hunger and malnutrition, safety and security, protecting the environment, to name just a few.

Philanthropic Giving Officer

The American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science (ACWIS) is seeking several Philanthropic Giving Officer(s) for various geographic territories. The qualified candidate will join our team of dedicated professionals who share the Weizmann Institute’s mission: science for the benefit of humanity.

Development Assistant

Works in conjunction with fellow development team members to provide comprehensive administrative support to Major Gift fundraisers, enabling success at all levels of the donor experience.

Administrative Assistant, Finance

This position provides administrative support to the CFO, Director of Finance, and other Finance Team staff.

Staff Accountant

This position performs a variety of accounting tasks and reporting activities primarily related payables, fund accounting, general ledger and tax compliance.

Director, Project Management & Strategic Initiatives

The newly created role of Director of Project Management and Strategic Initiatives will report to the Director of Strategy, Process, and Operations and is responsible for managing projects simultaneously across the organization, including the processes for gift proposals, gift agreements, and other projects as needed. The Director of Project Management and Strategic Initiatives will work closely across organizational teams, including senior leadership, fundraising, finance, legal and operations. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, enjoy working with a diverse group of individuals, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

 

Director, IT Architecture

The newly created role of Director of IT Architecture will report to the Chief Strategy Officer. The primary responsibility of this role is to drive network and systems adoption through high level management and is the subject matter expert in overall technology systems to ensure that organizational strategy and vision is present across the organization. This role will also be responsible for managing one IT support staff and will work closely with the fundraising, finance, legal and operations teams to assess their respective needs.

 

Director of Stewardship

The Director of Stewardship is a newly created role and an essential member of the Strategy team. The Director will report to the Managing Director, Donor Relations & National Programs.  ACWIS’ stewardship program has been largely designed and the role will be responsible for implementing, directing, and refining this comprehensive stewardship program to promote engagement and connection with donors at all levels of giving.
